Worksheets can be valuable tools for both homeschoolers and public schoolers alike. I can remember using many worksheets during my elementary and middle school years and in fact, I’ve used many during my homeschooling my own children. I mean, worksheets can be so valuable! They can be used alone or as a supplement. Our family was given a year-long subscription of an Individual Membership from Super Teacher Worksheets. Membership is regularly $19.95 at the time of posting.
Super Teacher Worksheets has so many options and categories available on their website. They offer worksheets for:
- Math
- Reading & Writing
- Phonics & Early Literacy
- Handwriting
- Grammar
- Spellings Lists & Worksheets (Gr. 1-5)
- Science
- Social Studies
- Holiday
- Puzzles & Brain Teasers
- Teacher Helpers
- Pre-K and Kindergarten
- Make Your Own Worksheets
For each category mentioned above, there are subcategories; too many to name them all here, but to name a few, there are things like nouns, printing and cursive handwriting, editing & proofreading, probability, and oodles more. The worksheets are in PDF form, so they are easily accessible. The site does mention that most of the worksheets are Common Core aligned, which would be indicated by an icon on each page. That isn’t anything that concerns me, but I wanted to mention it for those who are interested. The main site page has some top pick options to choose from, along with a “What’s New” section for recently added worksheets.
At the time that we received our membership access, we hadn’t yet started back to school officially, but adding worksheets to our day would be simple to do. I mostly wanted to work with Lucas on his writing and early Math skills.
When choosing what topic you want to work on, clicking to view the PDF will open the worksheet, so if you want to open it in a new window you’ll either need to right-click or click your middle mouse button, if that’s how your mouse works. There are also quite a few options for generating your own worksheets if you choose to go that route. Many of the worksheets will also have a solutions page available to print if it’s the kind of work that requires specific answers. This is especially nice for those who may have forgotten some math and grammar rules (ahem, like me).
A unique feature, in my opinion, is the My File Cabinet option. If there’s a worksheet that you love and want to use over and over again, you simply add it to you STW File Cabinet. This way you don’t have to search all over to find it. Just click the folder icon at the top of any page (except for the PDF pages) and you’re taken to all of your saved worksheets. You can even save the worksheets that you created yourself. The worksheets are actually saved through the website, although you could save them to your own computer or drive device if you wanted.
I have very much enjoyed my Super Teacher Worksheets access. I’ve mostly utilized sheets for Lucas in Math and writing, but there are also some nice worksheets for states and capitals. We’ve been working on that, and I was able to create word searches and use corresponding pages as quizzes. The worksheets are great to use for grades PreK and up! I feel like this is very affordable and would make a great addition for any family with children in most grades.
